Sort files

To quickly find what you need and efficiently manage shared documents, you can sort your files by different criteria, both within a conversation’s Shared Drive and in Drive. 

By default

Folders

• You find folders at the top of the list

• They are sorted by:

  • Primary: Alphabetical order (A to Z)

  • Secondary: Recency (newest first)

Files

• You find the files after all folders

• They are sorted by:

  • Primary: Recency (newest first)

  • Secondary: Alphabetical order (A to Z) 

Manual Sorting Behavior

When you select a sorting option:

• It applies to both files and folders

• Results show folders and files mixed based on sort criteria

• Items are sorted according to the selected criterion

• A secondary alphabetical sort (A to Z) is applied when relevant

Sorting options

• Modified (Newest first or Oldest first)

• Name (A to Z or Z to A)

• Size (Smallest first or Largest first)
