Start a call

On desktop (macOS, Windows, or on Wire for web)

In the conversation list:

1. Select the contact you'd like to call:
   
   
2. Select the call button in the conversation to begin the call:
   
   
3. To end the call, select the hang-up button.
   
   

Google Chrome 86 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 117 or higher, and Opera support calls on Wire.

On mobile

In the conversation list:

1. Select the name of the person you'd like to talk to.
2. Select the call button.
3. To end the call, select the hang-up button.

iOS

Please be aware:

Your call ends when you, as a recipient, lock your screen. It is the expected iOS behavior.

To avoid this case:

1. Open your device settings.
2. Select Accessibility.
3. Select Touch.
4. Enable Prevent Lock to End Call.
