Conference calling allows you to connect to a conference room for your secure and private audio and video conferences with a higher number of participants:
- Up to 50 participants for a video conference
- Up to 100 participants for an audio conference
You can initiate (only Wire for Enterprise) or join a conference call by using the latest version of Wire:
- On mobile: iOS & Android
- On desktop: Windows, macOS & Wire for web (on Chrome 86 or higher and Firefox 117 or higher)
Before you accept a call, you can unmute yourself and/or turn your camera on.
During a call, you can also use landscape mode on mobile devices, including screen sharing.
Conference calls can have a duration of up to 6 hours. After that, the call may be disrupted during occasional maintenance.
Hardware
The hardware you use for calling plays is very important for the quality of the calling experience. A good quality microphone will improve the audio quality, and the resolution of the video camera will affect the quality of the video stream. Similarly, the screen resolution affects the quality of the screen-sharing experience.
See the following guidelines on how the hardware affects a call. Please note that the quality of the microphone does not change the bitrate but will affect the audio quality.
