Start group from a 1:1 conversation

  • On desktop (macOS and Windows) or on Wire for web

    1. Select a 1:1 conversation in the conversation list:

    2. Select your contact's name at the top of the conversation to show their profile:

    3. Select CREATE GROUP:

    4. Name the group and set permissions: 

      Conversation_Groupname.png

    5. Select more people to add to the group. You can create conversations with up to 500 people. To add someone to a group conversation you need to be connected with that person.

    6. Select DONE.

  • On mobile devices

    1. Select a 1:1 conversation in the conversation list.
    2. Select your contact's name at the top of the conversation to show their profile.
    3. Select CREATE GROUP  Group16px.png .
    4. Select people to add to the group. 
    5. Select CREATE GROUP.
