On desktop
In the conversation:
1. Hover over the message you want to reply to with your cursor.
2. Select the reply button :

3. Type your response and send it.
On iOS
In the conversation:
1. Long press on the message you want to reply to:
2. Select the Reply button :

3. Type your response and send it.
Be aware that you can’t reply to a self-deleting message.
