How can I report a crash?

If you experience a crash on your device, we might ask you to send us the crash logs.

 

On desktop (macOS and Windows)

On macOS

  1. Open Finder.
  2. From the top menu, select Go.
  3. Select Go to folder, or Shift-Command-G.
  4. A dialog box should appear. Copy this link into the box, then select Return: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice
  5. Open the folder name of the device you’ve synced.
  6. Select the most recent or relevant crash logs. The name of each log file will include the app, the date and time the file was created, and the device, such as: Wire 2-15-16, 3-33 PM.crash

Attach the log files in your message to us.

On Windows

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Copy and paste this link into the address bar and press Enter: %APPDATA%\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\
  3. Open the folder name of the device you’ve synced.

On iOS

  1. Select Settings on your device.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Select Analytics.
  4. Select Analytics Data.
  5. Scroll through this list to find Wire events. 
  6. Select one of these events. 
  7. Select the share button at the top right.
