Connect through a proxy server on desktop

  • Updated

You can connect to a HTTP or SOCKS proxy (for using Wire in a company network or through Tor or I2P) by using the following parameter when starting the desktop application:

--proxy-server="http://localhost:9050"

or

--proxy-server="socks5://localhost:9050"

The hostname and port depend on your individual proxy server settings.

Be aware that some features like calling might not work or lower the anonymity of Tor or I2P.
