Digital signature

Digital signatures allow you and your team to digitally sign a PDF document shared in a conversation.

This feature is only available on iOS devices for now.

In team settings:

As a team owner you can configure digital signature for your team:

  1. Go directly to
  2. Log in with your account credentials.
  3. Click Settings in the navigation beneath your team name.
  4. Click contact us beneath Digital Signature and let us know that you would like to use digital signatures.
  5. We will let you know that the feature is enabled. 

Invite new members: 

Only users invited by phone number may use the digital signature feature.

  1. Go directly to
  2. Log in with your account credentials.
  3. Enter an email address, the full name and a valid phone number (+49123456789 format required) for the new user.
  4. Choose the role of that person in your team. 
  5. Send the invite.

Please be aware: Users who have been invited without a phone number or change their number cannot use digital signatures. If the feature is needed, the users needs to be removed from the team (will lose history!) and reinvited including a phone number.

Using digital signature in the app:

The sign button on PDFs will only show up if the user has a phone number in the profile.

  1. Tap on the relevant file.
  2. Tap Sign.
  3. You will receive a code on your mobile device via SMS.
  4. Enter the code in Wire to confirm signing the document.
  5. You will see the signed document and have the option to download it directly.
